My Rainbow In the Window was written in 2020 during the Covid-19 Pandemic. During this time, many children in New York City put pictures of rainbows in the windows of their homes to thank and celebrate essential workers who were risking their lives to keep people safe and healthy. Symbolizing hope, these homemade rainbow pictures were a way to come together as a community even when we had to be apart in our homes.

Put a picture in my window pane,

It’s a cloudy day filled with so much rain.

Will my picture make you smile?
